The Linden method has definitely saved me from what could have been some very bad and dark days. I am nineteen years old and realized I have derealization about two months ago. I had felt something was not quite right for some time ( I think it might have started from a bad weed trip a little more than a year ago). Coupled with being the kind of person who deals with stress by not dealing with it and moving forward by ignoring it, I think my default anxiety levels went up. I tried to pretend as though there was nothing wrong for a while but inevitably it came through.
After doing some research online, I came across TLM and read it's positive reviews. I decided that $89 for the online version was a bit steep but it is more than worth the price. His resources are great and really help you through the darkest times.
It was only about three weeks ago that I really started doing what TLM instructs and it has had a profound impact on me. There will be times when things are great and others when all seems lost but that's okay. You have to trust in what he and his support staff tell you. It really is nothing but anxiety. It can trick you into thinking many things that are not true (One morning I almost convinced myself that I was schizophrenic) and it can be frightening. All you have to do is engage yourself in tasks that keep your mind busy and away from the misleading brain signals. Keep relaxed (his deep relaxation meditation is fantastic especially when things get a bit hard) and live your life like you always would.
I had a GPA of 3.9 this semester (my highest so far) so don't think it will stop you from doing anything. I'm not completely out yet but boy, can I feel the difference. Yesterday, I finally felt my default levels of anxiety drop lower and lower. My body felt far more relaxed. i had a bit of a bad morning in terms of some loose thoughts on my part that built up my anxiety, but it was nothing I couldn't handle now.
The derealization will get worse the more you worry about it. The anxiety you create from worrying enhances it. Anxiety can NOT hurt you. Panic attacks are a joke once you realize this. TLM will explain all to you.
The times of feeling lost and hopeless are over. Derealization is now a secondary issue that I can finally get rid off. It does not rule my life and I often forget that I have it. I hope to shed it fully within the next two weeks. Your subconscious mind will fight you and make things hard by creating random anxious thoughts for a few weeks but stick through it. Trust in what you know. You will get better. And fast.
DO NOT go on forums. DO NOT give your symptoms undue attention. STOP checking if things are real or not. The world is real as are you. One day when my symptoms were strong, I walked up to a car and touched it to prove to myself that it existed. I think that actually helped a lot in showing myself that what I was experiencing was misleading.
Good luck and please believe in yourself, what I am saying and what you know.
